On March 25, the Solar & Storage Live Africa exhibition took place at the Johannesburg International Convention Centre, attracting numerous global energy companies. As a leader in the global zero-carbon journey, Linyang Energy made a stunning appearance, showcasing its comprehensive smart energy solutions and products in the fields of smart grids, energy storage, and renewable energy.
At the expo, Linyang Energy focused on Africa's urgent need for power infrastructure upgrades and highlighted its AMI system solutions. These solutions leverage two-way communication technology for real-time data collection and analysis, enabling clients to optimize grid operations and reduce line losses. At the system level, integrated prepaid and postpaid modes support remote parameter configuration, fault diagnosis, and dynamic tariff adjustments, significantly enhancing management efficiency and service levels. At the device level, Linyang offers a range of internationally certified meters and concentrators, designed to withstand Africa's complex electricity environments, featuring anti-tampering, wide temperature tolerance, and low power consumption. The SMX50 series smart meter, with plug-and-play communication modules supporting multiple protocols, complies with DLMS/COSEM and IDIS standards, ensuring seamless interoperability within AMI platforms and providing secure, reliable smart upgrades for Africa's power systems.
In the energy storage segment, Linyang Energy focused on meeting the diverse needs of various application scenarios. The company introduced its liquid-cooled PACK, Power Key® Smart Liquid-Cooled Storage Cabinets, Power Atlantic® Liquid-Cooled Battery Containers, and Power Hub® Microgrid Products and System Solutions. These solutions received strong interest from customers, who were impressed by their ability to support industrial and commercial microgrids, as well as grid-level energy storage. At the core of this product matrix is technological innovation, designed to optimize energy management for clients. The Power Key® Smart Liquid-Cooled Storage Cabinet stood out for its integrated safety design, modular architecture, and full liquid-cooling system, ensuring high-efficiency energy storage with comprehensive safety features. Its modular design significantly reduces deployment costs while maintaining stability even in extreme environments.
Additionally, Linyang Energy presented its high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar cells and modules, showcasing their innovative technology to help South Africa build a stable and sustainable energy system. Featuring bifacial double-glass designs, these modules offer superior hot-spot resilience and are optimized for high-temperature, arid environments, providing highly reliable solutions for mining areas, communities, and off-grid regions. Linyang Energy has developed and constructed over 5GW of photovoltaic projects, covering diverse and challenging terrains such as mudflats, barren mountains, deserts, and gobi. With localized technical support and comprehensive lifecycle services, Linyang will continue to assist South Africa in reducing its reliance on fossil fuels and transition toward a sustainable energy future.
In recent years, the African Union has introduced several initiatives, including the Africa Green Energy Initiative, Africa Energy Partnership Plan, Africa Energy Protocol, and the 2030 African Energy Strategy, as well as established the African Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund. These efforts encourage countries and regions to harness renewable resources like solar, wind, and hydropower to meet the growing energy demands of the continent. The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that by 2030, the African renewable energy market will reach hundreds of billions of dollars, signaling a period of policy-driven growth and market demand. With the African Continental Free Trade Area now operational, the renewable energy industry will break national borders to form a regional green electricity market, opening up new strategic opportunities for forward-thinking international companies.
Africa has long been a key region for Linyang Energy's “Going Global” strategy. At this South Africa exhibition, Linyang presented not only products and solutions but also a replicable, scalable zero-carbon development model. The company showcased its innovative strength and responsibility as a Chinese enterprise contributing to the global energy transition. Looking ahead, Linyang Energy will continue to deepen its global development strategy, actively expand its global market, strengthen its local cooperation network, and accelerate the implementation of renewable energy projects worldwide, offering the Linyang Model for Africa's, and the world's, green transformation.
